Smuk Zvuk is a duo that formed during exchange studies in Paris, consisting of Viktoria Holde Søndergaard on vibraphone and Klára Pudláková on double bass. While the difficult times of Covid made it impossible to explore the jazz scene of Paris, it created an intimate space for a deep connection in the duo format instead. Klára and Viktoria spent their days playing standards, sharing their compositions with one another and improvising freely together. The combination of vibraphone and double bass turned out to offer great composition challenges and possibilities.

Both Klára and Viktoria are active on the Danish and Czech jazz scene and have well known projects of their own (Viktoria: Baryl - Klára: Uthando, Pudlax). The name SMUK ZVUK is a mix of the danish word “smuk”, which means beautiful and the czech word “zvuk”, which means sound.

Smuk Zvuk er en duo bestående af Viktoria Holde Søndergaard på vibrafon og Klára Pudláková på kontrabas.

Duoen blev dannet under udvekslingsstudier i Paris i 2020. Mens de svære tider med Covid gjorde det umuligt at udforske jazzscenen i Paris, skabte det et intimt rum for en dyb forbindelse i duo-formatet i stedet. Klára og Viktoria brugte deres dage på at spille standarder, dele deres kompositioner med hinanden og improvisere frit sammen. Kombinationen af vibrafon og kontrabas viste sig at byde på kompositionsudfordringer og muligheder.

Både Klára og Viktoria er aktive på den danske og tjekkiske jazzscene og har deres egne projekter (Viktoria: Baryl - Klára: Uthando, Pudlax).

Navnet SMUK ZVUK er en blanding af det danske ord “smuk"" og det tjekkiske ord ""zvuk"", som betyder lyd.
