ABOUT

“Echo, Bravo is what happens when you lock five young and hungry musicians in a room with a crate of beers and shout: ‘RIGHT, NOW JUST GO WILD!’” — Selvtægt

With roots in Copenhagen’s experimental jazz and punk scene, Echo, Bravo are at the forefront of pushing the boundaries of what a rock band can sound like. The quintet’s uncompromising sound is a musical “empty-the-fridge” soup made from leftovers of post-punk, free jazz and noise rock.

Echo, Bravo’s raw, energetic and half-humorous style grows out of a free and spontaneous approach to music. With improvisation as their starting point, their songs often emerge from unpredictable jams that begin as noisy outbursts. In true soup-making fashion, they are boiled down to something simple and seasoned with whatever is lurking at the very back of the fridge — harmonica, percussion, or even a pink plastic flute.

With an intense and boundary-pushing live presence, no two Echo, Bravo concerts are ever the same. The sound of their sold-out shows at Christianshavns Beboerhus and Ungdomshuset, as well as performances at Pumpehuset, Den Grå Hal, and venues across Sweden and Germany, is captured on their new album Glasfisk — a raw, sharp-cut and unforgiving record that continues the path laid out on their debut album Der Tod und das Mädchen.
